The Spectacular Spider-Man/Trivia
- Fan Nickname - Many.
- THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-BRO.
- Doc Ock has two. Pre-breakdown is "D'awwwc Ock", post- is "DOCTOR OCTOPUS, LORD OF THE VAMPIRES". Just watch the episode with the famed opera fight to see what I'm talking about.
- Due to the various girls that Peter/Spidey attracts, fans have decided to rename the show "BITCHES LOVE SPIDER-MAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES".
- Hey It's That Voice - Try to watch a whole episode and not recognize at least one character's VA from a different show. The voice actors of this series are on the same level as The Avengers in both quality and quantity:
- Young Ocelot (Josh Keaton) is Peter/Spidey
- For added irony points, the very same person voiced Harry Osborn in the first two video game adaptations of the Spider-Man movies. Think about that one for a second.
- And Harry as the New Goblin in Spider-Man: Friend or Foe. Helping in the irony? The below-mentioned James Arnold Taylor, who voiced Harry, did the voice of Spider-Man in the Spider-Man: Battle for New York and the aformentioned Friend or Foe, making Keaton as Spidey and Taylor as Harry a literal role reversal.
- For added irony points, the very same person voiced Harry Osborn in the first two video game adaptations of the Spider-Man movies. Think about that one for a second.
- Eliza Thornberry (Lacey Chabert) is Gwen Stacy.
- Tidus (James Arnold Taylor) is Harry Osborn and Frederick Foswell.
- Cosmo (Daran Norris) is J. Jonah Jameson and his son John Jameson.
- Olga Gurlukovich (Vanessa Marshall) is Mary Jane Watson.
- The Kurgan and Lex Luthor (Clancy Brown) are George Stacy and the Rhino.
- The Clock King (Alan Rachins) is Norman Osborn.
- J. Jonah Jameson (Ed Asner) is (or was), oddly enough, Ben Parker.
- The Gravemind (Dee Bradley Baker) is Curt Connors/Lizard, with Betty DeVille (Kath Soucie) as his wife Martha.
- Baker also voiced both the Lizard and Curt personas in the two PS 1 Spider-Man games.
- John Stewart (Phil LaMarr) is Robbie Robertson and his son Randy.
- Max and Kida (Cree Summer) are Glory Grant .
- Mandy, Azula and Frankie Foster (Grey DeLisle) are Sally Avril and Betty Brant.
- Goliath (Keith David) was Tombstone for his first appearance, and was subsequently replaced by Skulker (Kevin Michael Richardson).
- Speaking of Goliath, a number of voice actors from Gargoyles, also appear on the show. Uncle Ben, Captain Stacy, Glory, Mysterio, and Martha Connor were respectively Hudson, Hakon/Tomas Brod/Wolf, Hyena, Coldsteel, and Princess Katherine/Ophelia/The Weird Sisters/Maggie Reed. Morris Bench's cameo was voiced by Broadway(Who also voiced him as Hydro-Man in the Spider-Man ride at Islands of Adventure). Shocker was Brooklyn, Owen Burnett, and the Magus. The Tinkerer was Lexington. Lastly, Stan Carter's Matt Bluestone.

- I Knew It! - In the first season, we are introduced to Green Goblin. Most people by now know that Norman Osborn is the Green Goblin, and at first the show didn't do much to deny this, giving several indications that it was he. Then later that season, we were shown that it was in fact Harry Osborn. When Goblin made his return in the second season, the final episodes played up the idea that other people could be the Goblin, giving the audience some very serious misdirection. Even this troper, who is rather well versed in Spider-Man lore, thought that possibly they would change the identity of the Goblin. Of course, all of this was proven to be just subterfuge, as in the final episode it was revealed that the Goblin had, in fact, been Norman Osborn all along.
- Adding to the confusion, of course, was the fact that Harry Osborn was also the Goblin in the comics for a while.
- Screwed by the Lawyers - What ultimately did the show in was Sony losing the TV rights following the Disney/Marvel deal to keep the movies rights, but...
- Screwed by the Network - ...the end of Kids WB and Disney XD waiting until summer to air Season 2 didn't help.
- What Could Have Been - The show's head honcho, Greg Weisman, had rough plans for a total of 65 episodes (39 more than what we got). He also had plans for Hobgoblin and Scorpion.
- And there were also rumors about Carnage (Cletus Kassidy was seen in season 2) as well as The Clone Saga (Miles Warren gained full control over Curt Connors' lab at the end of season 2).
- Weisman's aspirations also included finishing the series with Peter's graduation from High School, then doing four straight to DVD movies, covering Peter's college years.
