Our Heroes
Scott Truman / Ranger Operator Series Red | (Actor: Eka Darville)
Here we go, people. Let's bring the pain.
- Berserk Button: Don't scratch his car.
- Betty and Veronica: The Betty to Dillon's Veronica for Summer's Archie.
- Cool Car: It's painted red.
- Cool Sword: Street Saber
- Despite only one or two actual uses, the Rail Saber counts, too.
- The Hero
- Ho Yay: With Dillon.
- I Owe You My Life: To Summer after he was shot down and wounded before Corinth was sealed.
- Law of Chromatic Superiority: Only Ranger to pilot the Paleozords. He doesn't get a Battlizer, though.
- The McCoy
- Standardized Leader
- Super Speed: His suit ability charges his body with energy, and shoots him off at a high speed.
- "Well Done, Son" Guy
Flynn McAllistair / Ranger Operator Series Blue | (Actor: Ari Boyland)
This is how we do it GLASGOW STYLE!
- Ascended Fanboy: Of superheroes.
- Badass: Definitely.
- BFG: Turbo Cannon
- Big Eater: It's largely implied considering he was the one huge on the wedding reception and always exasperated when he has to waste food.
- The Big Guy [1]
- Bonnie Scotland: Complete with thick accent. Played by a Kiwi. Hilarity Ensues.
- Brave Scot:To the extreme.
- Cool Car: Blue.
- Genius Bruiser: He's the best with machinery and tools among the Rangers.
- Running Gag: He never gets to drink a smoothie, does he?
- Samaritan Syndrome: His previous jobs all revolved around helping people, but his uncompromising principles always led to him getting fired. The turning point was the incident that led to him saving the bus full of refugees seen in the pilot episode.
- Ship Tease: With Gemma.
- The Spock
- Time Stop: As his suit power; manifests itself as Super Speed.
- "Well Done, Son" Guy: Though not to Scott's extent.
- Only in his youth. Upon arriving at Corinth, his dad is fully supportive of him.
Summer Landsdown / Ranger Operator Series Yellow | (Actress: Rose McIver)
I don't care where you came from. I want to know where you're going.

- The Kirk
- Lonely Rich Kid
- New Skills As The Plot Demands: Some of her abilities are established from the beginning, implied or at least foreshadowed... and then some appear out of nowhere, like hypnotizing.
- She's also (apparently) the second in command, despite the fact that the numbers on their uniforms imply otherwise.
- Parental Abandonment: We don't see her folks until her spotlight episode.
- It's inverted and played straight... in her youth, her parents never were around. After arriving in Corinth, it was she who abandoned them.
- Rich Bitch: She got better, though.
- Token Girl: Until Gemma showed up.
- Took a Level in Badass: Before the first episode, on her journey alone across the wastelands. She went from a lazy empty-minded Rich Bitch to a first-class badass Action Girl.
Ziggy Grover / Ranger Operator Series Green | (Actor: Milo Cawthorne)
In times like this, there is one question that needs to be answered: are we, or are we not, the good guys?
- An Axe to Grind: Turbo Ax. Ironic, given his fighting prowess.
- Badass Unintentional: His first morph. Well, most of the season really.
- Butt Monkey
- Conveniently an Orphan: Implied to have been raised in an Orphanage of Love.
- Falling Into The Ranger Suit
- Genre Savvy: And how!
- With dashes of Wrong Genre Savvy on occasions, depend on what's funnier.
- Giving the Sword to A Noob: The Rangers' morphers are designed to be operable only by the first person to use it, as it recorded his DNA as a security lock. Because of the situation, it was he or one of the bad guys, so...
- Heterosexual Life Partners: With Dillon.
- Improv Fu
- Keet
- Limited Wardrobe: While all characters apply, Ziggy gets a special mention, as it only happens after he becomes a Ranger. Before that, he used different clothes.
- Mentor Ship: With Dr. K.
- Meta Guy: "Weird? Okay, you cruise around in a giant yellow teddy-bear, okay? I drive a big, green FISH! Look in the mirror, people, we're in no position to be sitting in judgment of anything weird!"
- Non-Action Guy: He hides behind Dillon in his first fight, and is the only Ranger in history that doesn't get insta-martial arts.
- Plucky Comic Relief
- Sensitive Guy and Manly Man: Sensitive Guy to Dillon's Manly Man.
- The So-Called Coward: While he is never called a coward, the trope still applies.
- Teleport Spam: His suit ability. Used primarily for laughs though.

- All Girls Want Bad Boys
- Badass: After the first few episodes, it's hard not to think he's a badass.
- Badass Driver: "If that thing has a steering wheel, I can drive it." He makes it through the barricade in broad daylight during the first episode, something Ziggy thought was impossible, and later does it again with Tenaya providing cover fire.

- Berserk Button: Don't damage his car, either.
- Betty and Veronica: The Veronica to Scott's Betty for Summer's Archie.

Their Friends
Dr. K | (Actress: Olivia Tennet)
"I've made errors. But I've also learned that even the most flawed human is better than the most perfect machine."
- Adorkable
- Badass Labcoat
- Berserk Button: Do NOT call the suits "spandex". "Tights" seem to be OK, though.
- Broken Bird: Being brought up simply to develop technology and software all her life, and being told she was photosensitive to keep her from going outdoors, will do that.
- Deadpan Snarker
- Genius' Sweet Tooth
- Hot Scientist
- Little Miss Badass
- Little Miss Snarker
- Mentor Ship: With Ziggy.
- Musical Assassin: Her violin packs quite a punch.
- Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: She's the one who developed the Venjix virus albeit just for the building she was in and nothing beyond that. But in truth this should extend to the organization that was looking after her. As if they had just let her get out once in a while. She would never have made it in the first place and even then should've at least let her install the firewall. They knew what she was a genius so they should've at least heeded her words.
- No Social Skills
- Not That Kind of Doctor
- One-Letter Name
- Samus Is a Girl: Attempted, with somewhat predictable results.
- Shorter Means Smarter
- Sugar and Ice Personality
- Supporting Protagonist: The whole series is her trying to fix the disaster she caused.
- Teen Genius
Col. Mason Truman | (Actor: James Gaylyn)
- Badass Normal
- Bald Black Leader Guy
- Colonel Badass
- Dying Like Animals: A turtle. His main argument with Scott is over whether they should stick to defending the dome or take the fight to Venjix.
- Reasonable Authority Figure: Most of the time
- Too Dumb to Live: ONLY regarding Dr. K. He tries to arrest her, the only person in the world who fully understand the Ranger technology and therefore, the only person capable of stopping Venjix, after discovering she created it.
- You Look Familiar: Played a past ninja master for one episode of Power Rangers Ninja Storm (he was the guy who banished Lothor from Earth).
Corporal Hicks | (Actor: Damien Avery)
- Ascended Extra: Despite not being listed as a main character, Hicks has a considerable amount of screentime throughout the series. Especially when it's revealed that he was a Half-Human Hybrid under Venjix's control since day one.
- Classically-Trained Extra: Look at Damien Avery's resume
- Half-Human Hybrid: First of the secret hybrids to be revealed.
- The Klutz
Vasquez | (Actress: Mia Koning)
- Distaff Counterpart: To Hicks
- Half-Human Hybrid
- Performance Anxiety: When all of the male soldiers are taken out, she cracks under the pressure to run the command center herself.
- Voice of the Resistance: It's Vasquez who provides the radio transmissions that lead any survivors to Corinth.
Fresno Bob | (Actor: John Summer)
- Berserk Button: Don't call him Bobarino.

- I Owe You My Life: How Bob and Ziggy eventually bury the hatchet.
- Shaming the Mob: Attempted by Ziggy to end their rivalry.
Their Enemies
Venjix | (Voice actor: Andrew Laing)
I brought a legion. What did you bring?
- A.I. Is a Crapshoot: More like virus, but still.
- Badass Boast: His first line: "I am Venjix! Your world is now MY world, and YOUR time is now OVER!"
- Another one in "Embodied:" "I am Venjix! The one, immortal ME!"
- Beard of Evil: Sports a truly magnificent one in his most advanced body
- Big Bad
- Captain Ersatz: Of HAL 9000 and Skynet, with the MCP's voice thrown in for good measure.
- Composite Character: Of Land Pollution Vice-Minister Hiramechimedes and Yogoshimacritein of Engine Sentai Go-onger.
- Curb Stomp Battle: When he faces off against the Rangers for the first time. If it wasn't for Gem and Gemma he would have easily won.
- Cyber Cyclops: In his cylinder form.
- Evil Counterpart: Perhaps unintentionally, of Zordon. He communicates to his men from a floor-to-ceiling cylinder, and his lair resembles the original Command Center.
- Kill All Humans
- Make My Monster Grow
- Mid-Season Upgrade: He eventually gains an Attack Bot that serves as his avatar when he wishes to combat the Rangers.
- Name's the Same: No, he's not the same Venjix from "Forever Red".
- One Steve Limit: An aversion - he has nothing to do with the previous Venjix. Complete coincidence, or a reference that was taken too seriously? You decide.
- Orcus on His Throne: For the earlier episodes; all he did was Make My Monster Grow.
- Take Over the World
Generals Crunch & Shifter | (Voice actors: Charlie McDermott and Mark Mitchinson)
- The Brute: Shifter
- The Dark Chick: Crunch, in what little face-time he has.
- Giggling Villain: Crunch.

- Those Two Bad Guys
- The Starscream: Shifter... who is promptly destroyed by the RPM Ultrazord and finished off by Scott.
Tenaya 7/Tenaya 15 | (Actress: Adelaide Kane)
- Cain and Abel: The Cain to Dillon's Abel
- Chekhov MIA
- Dark Action Girl
- The Dragon
- Expy: Arguably, of Astronema.
- Half-Human Hybrid
- Heel Face Turn
- Brainwashed and Crazy: ...then is promptly reprogrammed into Tenaya 15.
- Heel Face Mind Screw: She gets better in the end.
- Brainwashed and Crazy: ...then is promptly reprogrammed into Tenaya 15.
- Leitmotif/Calling Card: A whistled, instrumental version of The Farmer in the Dell.
- Luke, I Am Your Father: She's Dillon's long lost sister. It was obvious to the fans, though.
- The Mole: As her original purpose.
- Ms. Fanservice
- One of Us: Adelaide Kane went to Comic-Con dressed as Wonder Girl.
- Only Sane Woman - With a hint of Deadpan Snarker to boot.
- Unrobotic Reveal
General Kilobyte | (Voice actor: Leighton Cardno)
You put a human against a machine, the machine will win every time.
- Adaptation Expansion: RPM makes him a major villain, as opposed to his Go-Onger counterpart which only appeared for three episodes.
- Badass in a Nice Suit: His mantle has the appearance of a tie and lapels.
- The Dragon: Replaces Tenaya 7 in this role.
- Enigmatic Minion: His loyalty never wavers, but he's very protective of his position, leading him to occasionally go behind Venjix's back.
- Evil Brit
- Manipulative Bastard
- Stay in the Kitchen
"You think because I look like a human girl, I can't bring it."
"No, I think that because you are programmed like a human girl you cannot "bring it"."
- ↑ Given that he's a bit of a Genius Bruiser, he also qualifies as The Smart Guy.
- ↑ Can also qualify as The Big Guy due to his cyborg parts giving him increased combat prowess.
