Nicole Kidman provides examples of the following tropes:
- Australian Accent: Duh, she's Australian. If you want to know what the average Australian actually sounds like, listen to her in interviews.
- Cameo: In the Robbie Williams video for his cover of Sinatra's Something Stupid.
- also in the recent Adam Sandler movie Just Go with It.
- Defrosting Ice Queen
- Dye Hard: She's naturally red-haired but is more famous for being an 'icy-blonde'.
- English Rose: in Australia.
- Fake Nationality: The majority of her film roles, since she rarely gets a chance to play an Aussie (even in Australia she plays a Brit). These include:
- Fake American: Many roles. She technically has dual-citizenship since she was born in Honolulu, though both of her parents from Australia and she was raised there.
- Fake Brit: In Hours (as Virginia Woolf) and Australia.
- Fake French: In Moulin Rouge!.
- Fake Irish: In Far and Away.
- Fake Russian: In Birthday Girl.
- Hair of Gold
- Heterosexual Life Partners: She and Naomi Watts are very close.
- Ice Queen
- Oscar Bait: Which has helped garner 3 Oscar nominations for Best Actress, including a win for 2002's The Hours.
- Playing Against Type: In contrast to her usual Defrosting Ice Queen role she has played an evil Brainless Beauty in To Die For and a Cute Witch in the film version of Bewitched.
- Statuesque Stunner
- Tiny Guy, Huge Girl: She used to be married to the much shorter Tom Cruise. When they divorced she made her famous comment: "Now I can wear heels again" in regard to the situation.
- Mocked when she was doing press for The Peacemaker with George Clooney. They both appeared on a late show together and while Kidman was complaining about looking so tall on screen, Clooney was teasing her by slowly sliding down in the next seat.
- Even now, despite the claims from Keith Urban that he's 5'10", when people see the two of them side by side, they aren't buying it.

- The Vamp: Playing Mrs. Coulter in The Golden Compass. In fact she was author Philip Pullman's first choice for the role and he later admitted that he should have made the character blonde to reflect this point.
