• Arc Fatigue: By the time 1998 was over, EVERYONE was sick of the nWo. The Finger-Poke of Doom didn't help.
• Complete Monsters: The various acts they committed in their first month in WWF in 2002, ranging from various toolbox item sneak attacks to breaking a cement block over Stone Cold Steve Austin's knee to running an ambulance over that we saw the Rock get put in with a giant nWo semi truck three times in succession, certainly put them up in this territory if they weren't already there with many of their actions in WCW.
  • There was one segment where a stagehand asked them to move so he could get a cup of coffee. The nWo proceeded to beat up the stagehand and pour the entire pot of scalding coffee on the poor bastard.
• Crowning Music of Awesome: The theme goes without saying.
• Darkness-Induced Audience Apathy: The nWo Souled Out PPVs, especially the first one. The commentary team was an nWo provided team who buried all the faces, all the matches were refereed by the nWo's corrupt referee Nick Patrick, and generally it was so obviously a predetermined victory for the nWo that the fans didn't react much one way or the other.
• Generic Doomsday Villain: HOGAN, number one.
• I Knew It!: Given all the time Bobby "The Brain" Heenan had been feuding with Hulk Hogan, he wasn't about to let his Face Heel Turn pass without comment...

Heenan: "I've been telling you people what a scumbag this man is for the past 15 years, and did any of you listen? NO!"

• • Which is kind of Hilarious in Hindsight since most smarks would now emphatically agree with Heenan's assessment.
• Misblamed: The face nWo Wolfpac was actually very popular. The bookers hadn't even planned to make the Wolfpac face, it was the massive positive reactions they got that turned them face. In the retelling, they're usually made out to be stale and a ratings drain, but they were popular enough that during the Nash/Goldberg match, the commentators had to no-sell very audible "Goldberg sucks" chants from Wolfpac fans.
• Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: Several wrestlers whose popularity had been waning got this treatment by either feuding with or joining the nWo, not the least of which was Hogan himself.
• Rooting for the Empire: At first, anyway.
