Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe/Trivia
- Dueling Games: With Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (online re-release).
- Executive Meddling:
- DC Comics signed on to the game, but refused to allow their heroes like Batman and Superman be seen killing or being brutally killed. Subsequently, the signature gore of the Mortal Kombat series was vastly toned down.
- The ESRB refused to grant the game its desired T rating unless two specific fatalities by Deathstroke and the Joker featuring gun shots to the head were censored... this did not apply with other ratings boards.
- Hey, It's That Voice!:
- Patrick Seitz voices four characters (see Talking to Himself below).
- Richard Epcar voices two characters (see Talking to Himself below).
- Taliesin "Blanka" Jaffe voices The Flash.
- P.J. "Sylvanas" Mattson is the voice of Catwoman.
- Michael McConnohie is the voice of Kano and Ganthet's cameo.
- Tara Platt voices Wonder Woman.
- Christopher Corey Smith, better known as Emperor Mateus, Kittan and Rufus, voices Superman.
- Talking to Himself:
- Patrick Seitz pulls quadruple role as Scorpion, Shao Kahn, Deathstroke and Dark Kahn.
- Richard Epcar voices both Raiden and The Joker.
- As said above, Michael McConnohie pulls double duty as Kano and Ganthet (in a cameo).
- Christopher Corey Smith pulls double role as Superman and the Batcave's computer.
- Dan Washington has double duty as Jax and Baraka.
- What Could Have Been:
- Harley Quinn and Quan Chi were originally going to be both playable and later DLC. They were left out due to both the deadline and the collapse of Midway Games.
- The idea for this game (when it was still the tentative Mortal Kombat 8) was originally to follow the events of Armageddon, with most of the cast dying in the Battle of Armageddon in order to make way for a new cast. Scorpion and Sub-Zero would be survivors of the event. When it instead became a crossover with DC, these plot elements were modified and reworked into Mortal Kombat 9, only that instead of the ninjas, it ended up becoming Raiden and Shao Kahn.
