The Casketts
- Mega Man Volnutt
I analyze every possibility, and I never give up. That's the way I live my life as a digger!—Voiced by Corey Sevier (English, Legends 1), Susan Roman (English, Legends 2), Mayumi Tanaka (Japanese)
The main hero of the game. Mega Man works together with Roll as they investigate ruins as Diggers, Mega Man doing the adventuring while Roll provides info of what to do.
It was revealed in Legends 2 that his original name is Mega Man Trigger. In the past, he lived in a place called Elysium along with the Mother Units: Yuna and Sera, and the individual known as the "Master" (the last true human remaining). He is a Purifier Unit tasked of eliminating anyone who tries to harm the Master System. He is also the most favored unit of the Master and is very close to him. One day, the Master asked Trigger to come with him to Terra (Earth) to experience what life is like there. Later that night, the Master Died Happily Ever After due to prolonged exposure outside of Elysium and gave Trigger one final request: destroy the Master System. He fought all the units of Elysium alone, who hinder him on his quest including the Mother Units. However, Yuna slowly came to understand what Trigger is doing and took a neutral position - neither helping him or fighting against him. This angered Sera and decided to take on Trigger herself in Terra. However, since she cannot bring her full power outside of Elysium, she was unable to defeat Trigger and both exhausts themselves of their full power as a result ending the battle in a draw. Trigger's body is almost totally destroyed and he had no choice but to reset his programmings to heal. He created Data and transferred all of his memories in Elysium (including the Master's genetic sample) to it. Yuna would then arrive afterwards and took that opportunity to imprison the weakened Trigger and Sera in stasis fields. She sealed Sera in Forbidden Island and Trigger in Nino Island. After long years of slumber, Trigger's new body as an infant (completely wiped out of his original memories) along with Data was then found by a family of diggers called the Caskets and would live on as Mega Man Volnutt.
- Accidental Pervert: Walked in on Roll while she was changing in Legends 1, and walked in on her while she was in the bathtub in Legends 2. The Legends 2 occurrence was actually a Crowning Moment of Funny due to the victory pose he does after the fact.
- Arm Cannon: Naturally.
- Badass: In the past as Mega Man Trigger. Period. Really, fighting a whole army of Elysium and even the powerful Mother Units in order to fulfill the Master's dying wish?
- He can still be pretty badass in the present as he can pawn Reaverbots much bigger than he is.
- Badass Pacifist
- Belligerent Sexual Tension: May or may not have this with Sera. And who knows what's gonna happen after he got stuck in Elysium with her at end of the second game. Also...
- Unresolved Sexual Tension: With Roll, and maybe Yuna.
- Charged Attack: Had the traditional Charge Shot in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, but not yet in any of the actual Legends games. The design team had an idea on how to implement it, though.
- Chick Magnet: Roll and Tron are both head-over-heels inlove with him. But we also have Yuna, and probably even Sera.
- Capcom vs. Whatever: Showed up in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom as a playable character.
- Dark and Troubled Past: As Mega Man Trigger.
- Frickin' Laser Beams: The Shining Laser. Full stop.
- Green Eyes
- Helmets Are Hardly Heroic: He is the only Mega Man incarnation who doesn't wear a helmet by default. While he can wear one in both games, don't expect to see him wearing one in any other appearances.
- The Hero: The main good guy, which in his game, means going into dungeons and battling Reavers while the rest support him from the Flutter.
- Love Triangle: With Roll and Tron. He can be considered the Archie to Roll's Betty and Tron's Veronica.
- Increased Up to Eleven if you add Yuna and Sera, making it a Love Square of sorts. Yuna is the Betty, and Sera is the Veronica.
- Macross Missile Massacre: He can do this with the fully upgraded Active Buster.
- Mega Man Volnutt Can Breathe Underwater: Mega Man has no problems breathing underwater in the Nino Islands dungeon. Justified, as he was given a rebreather before entering that dungeon.
- Mr. Fanservice: Explains a lot of his status as the Fandom Bycicle by the Legends fandom.
- Oblivious to Love: Literally. In fact, he is oblivious of any affections directed towards him by any of the female characters.
- One-Man Army: The Bonne family have a fleet of airships and giant robots. The Casket family has Mega Man. That's all they need. It's practically lampshaded when Mega Man deals critical damage to the Bonnes' lead airship, and Teisel exclaims "what kind of firepower are they packing on that little ship?" According to the backstory, he waged a one-man war on Elysium, and it took Sera, a Mother Unit, to bring him down. And even then it was more of a stalemate.
- Powered Armor: Mega Man was seen without his regular suit on in the Legends 2 intro cutscene, and he's usually without the series' trademark helmet until the player equips it.
- Ridiculously Human Robot: Unlike the other characters, who are mostly humans that can become Cyborgs, Mega Man is a robot.
- Swiss Army Appendage: While his right arm is always equipped with his handy Mega Buster, his left arm can be fitted with such attachments as machine guns, drills, and even the Z-Saber/Zetsabre.
- Transferable Memory: Trigger stored the memories of his past life, along with any essential files, in Data. Making sure that Sera would not obtain The Master's genetic code.
- Trauma-Induced Amnesia: Justified due to the above statement. Though, not exactly trauma.
- Unwanted Harem: This official art proves it!
- Worthy Opponent: To both the Bonne Family and Sera.
- Wouldn't Hit a Girl: Apparently, this does not apply to Sera.
- Roll Caskett
Remember the first time you went on a dig, Mega Man? I wasn't used to being a Spotter... and you ended up getting lost underground for three days! Remember? We were lucky that Gramps came to help us... I don't know what I would've done if he hadn't been there...—Voiced by Tracy Ryan (English), Keiko Yokozawa (Japanese)
A passionate spotter and engineer who wishes to find her missing parents after an excavation went wrong in the past. Roll is Mega Man's spotter whenever he goes inside ruins, and she often worries about him just as if he was his brother. Since her grandpa sits behind, Roll gives transportation for the whole team. It seems she holds a bit of a crush with Mega Man, but not as bad as Tron's, which is frequently played for laughs.
- Ace Pilot: If it moves, she'll know how to pilot it.
- Betty and Veronica: The Betty to Tron's Veronica towards Mega Man.
- Cannot Spit It Out: The games drop several hints these are her feelings towards Mega Man.
- Gadgeteer Genius: Found some old broken drill or toy laser sword? Take it to Roll and she'll figure out how to make a new weapon out of it!
- Mission Control: She's Mega Man's spotter in the Flutter and relays him data she gathers about the area as he explores.
- Parental Abandonment: They disappeared on digs, so she was raised by her grandfather.
- Romance Sidequest: Both games have the option to bring her various gifts.
- Teen Genius: She does all of the above as a teenager.
- Voice with an Internet Connection: How she communicates with Mega Man while he's underground.
- Wrench Wench: She can't help herself. She saw a broken boat in the first game and spontaneously decided to fix it.
- Data
Hi! My name's Data! But you already knew that, didn't you? I mean, we've been friends for years, right? Come talk to me if you want to save, ok?—Voiced by Ikue Ohtani (Japanese)
The crew's mascot found together Mega Man. He has ever since tagged along with them. He holds all of Mega Man's memories inside of him as a sort of backup system.
- Big Damn Heroes: At the end of the first game, he shows up out of nowhere and prevents the extinction of all the people on Katalox Island.
- Everything's Better with Monkeys: There's no explanation given for why Data is a monkey, given his purpose.
- Meaningful Name: He acts as your save point. He also holds data on Mega Man's previous life.
- Neuro Vault: He's Mega Man's backup unit that holds all his lost memories.
- Nice Hat
- Non-Human Sidekick: He helps Mega Man with save points and health recharges.
- Team Pet: For the Casket Family, as their faithful monkey companion.
- Barrell Caskett
I've been in the digging business a long time, but I haven't been able to find out anything about this island's treasure except legends and myths...—Voiced by George Masswohl (English), Kenichi Ogata (Japanese)
Barrell Casket is Roll's grandfather and avid Digger in his days.
- Cool Old Guy: He's still got a lot of spirit and spunk in spite of his old age.
- Team Dad: He raised Roll and Mega Man and acts as a mentor figure to them both.
The Bonnes
- Teisel Bonne
I want another flawless operation, same as the last one! I swear, that treasure will be ours or my name's not Bonne! Let's DO IT!!—Voiced by Rob Smith (English), Tessho Genda (Japanese)
The boss (and most definitely insane) leader of the Bonne Family pirates who are always on the look-out for treasure. He's dead set on trying to stop Mega Man from stopping them, considering him a worthy opponent. He despises Glyde and his gang a lot.
- Affably Evil: He seems like a pretty fun guy to be around, if you're not his enemy.
- Anime Hair: You don't get spikes like that in the real world.
- Even Evil Has Standards:
Teisel Bonne: We may be pirates, but we're not barbarians. We'll let them keep the toilet paper.
- Evil Is Petty: He absolutely refuses to get involved with the battle, he left it to Tron and Bon to handle.... then a news broadcast of Mega Man's heroism interrupts his favorite TV show. Cue Jaw Drop and eventual outrage.
- Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain
- Large Ham: Teisel has three tones of voice: talking normally, shouting, and shouting louder. The first does not get used nearly as much as the other two.
- Loveable Rogue: He may be a pirate, but he's so darn funny!
- No Indoor Voice: "I SAID, clo-o-o-ose the HATCH!"
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: For some reason, Teisel has bright red eyes, cybernetics perhaps?
- Strong Family Resemblance: He looks almost exactly like his father... if it weren't for the red eyes and crazy hairstyle.
- White-Haired Pretty Boy: His hair is white/grey, he's not a pretty boy or a boy though.
- Worthy Opponent: Although Teisel's early defeats by "a mere blue boy" invoke This Cannot Be! reactions, he eventually starts to see Mega Man as this after the Bonnes' best efforts continue to be thwarted by him.
- Tron Bonne
Who was that? Wait! Wasn't that the same boy as before? He disabled the Blumebears by himself? I don't understand-- whenever I think about him, I get this... funny feeling...—Voiced by Caroly Larson (English), Mayumi Iizuka (Japanese)
The Bonne Family's main engineer. She initially hates Mega Man's guts but eventually forms an unrequited crush on him. However, she tries hard to deny that fact. She tends to love or hate her loyal Servbots who often tend to fail her during missions. She has her own title, The Misadventures of Tron Bonnne.
- Animal Mecha: Most of the major robots she builds fit into this theme.
- Anime Hair: Not as out-there as Teisel's, but it's still pretty silly. Even more so when she's not wearing her hairband.
- Betty and Veronica: The Veronica to Roll's Betty towards Mega Man.
- Bishonen Line: In a sense—her "masterpiece", Theodore Bruno, is the most humanoid of her robots and definitely the strongest.
- Breakout Character: Along with Mega Man himself, she's the character everyone knows from this series. She got her own spinoff for a reason.
- Capcom vs. Whatever: She's showed up in a few of these games, the latest being Marvel vs. Capcom 3.
- Evil Counterpart: To Roll.
- Loveable Rogue: Just like Teisel, she's very likeable for a pirate.
- Strong Family Resemblance: She looks exactly like her mother.
- Team Mom: For the Servbots.
- Teen Genius: She may be a teenager, but she has the skills to build and repair robots the size of houses.
- Tsundere: Normally very hot-tempered and angry, but she has a soft side that comes out sometimes.
- Villain Protagonist: During the prequel, as she's the player character for 99% of the game (though you actually control her mech, not her directly).
- Villainesses Want Heroes: She wants Mega Man Volnutt.
- Why Did It Have To Be Dogs?: Fears dogs a lot to the point she'll jump to a lightpost from the smallest puppy.
- Bon Bonne
Babuu.—Voiced by Chuck Campbell (English), Ikue Ohtani (Japanese)
The very mysterious, young member of the Bonne Family. While he speaks like a baby, he's a big mecha. It's really unclear if the robot is acting like a baby or a baby is inside a mecha.
- Ambiguously Human: Is he a baby perpetually inside a mecha or a childlike robot treated like a family? No one really knows.
- Macross Missile Massacre: He can fire a slavo of missiles during the first encounter with him.
- Verbal Tic: "Babuu!" As he's still a baby, it's the only word he knows how to say.
- Intelligible Unintelligible: Somehow Teisel and Tron seem to understand what he's saying.
- The Servbots
Miss Tron!—Voiced by Elizabeth Hanna (English), Chisa Yokoyama (Japanese)
The cute yet almost unreliable Bonne Family's minions. While they often screw up, they sometimes rise up to help the family no matter what. Too bad they get more abuse from Tron rather than from authorities and Mega Man. Even though they always go through hard times, they do their very best to make their mom (Tron) proud of them, which sadly happens very rarely.
- Invincible Minor Minion: In The Misadventures of Tron Bonne, you are required to exploit this by having them walk into otherwise dangerous situations.
- Iron Butt Monkey: Pun not intended.
- Mascot Mook: Similar to the Mets for the rest of the series, everyone recognizes the Servbots.
- Trademark Favorite Food: Curry.
Other Characters
- Glyde
I'm very, very, disappointed in all of you! You can't even capture a little island by yourselves!—Voiced by Michael Hall (English, The Misadventures of Tron Bonne), Toby Proctor (English, Legends 2), Takehito Koyasu (Japanese)
The self-proclaimed rival to the Bonne Family. Teisel is his main rival and both hate each other's guts. He even has his own set of bird-like minions.
- Ambiguously Gay: He has a soft voice, is very well groomed, and walks around with a rose.
- Never Found the Body: He is never seen or heard from again after Legends 2's train battle, leaving his ultimate fate ambiguous.
- The Rival: To the Bonne family. He and Teisel don't get along at all.
- Smug Snake: He's far too confident for his own good, even when things begin to turn against him.
- Lex Loath
Voiced by Jim Morris (English), Junpei Takiguchi (Japanese)
A loan shark that eventually kidnaps both Teisel and Bon for a huge debt Teisel never paid him back.
- Big Bad: Of The Misadventures of Tron Bonne.
- Loan Shark: Demands interest of 2 million zenny after Tron pays back Teisel's initial 1 million zenny loan, then demands interest on the interest!
- Shout-Out Theme Naming: He seems to be named after Lex Luthor.
- Denise
Voiced by Nadine Rabinovitch (English), Hiroko Konishi (Japanese)
An extremely devoted police officer who always has bad days during work. She tries really hard in bringing criminals to justice by all means necessary.
- The Cameo: She shows up as a weather reporter in Mega Man Megamix.

Voiced by Kent Sheriden (English, Bola), Paul Miller (English, Klaymoor), Takeshi Kusao (Japanese, Bola), Shozo Iizuka (Japanese, Klamoor)

Voiced by Akemi Kanda (Japanese)
Aero was a character set to appear in Legends 3, acting as Barrel's spotter.
System's Units
- Mega Man Juno
Was it you who awoke me? It is somewhat earlier than I had planned... but no matter... thank you for awakening me... Hmmm? Have we met before? Oh, please forgive me. You are a purifier model, assigned to the direct command of Mother. As I recall, you were designated Mega Man Trigger. Please forgive me, I did not recognize you in your current configuration.—Voiced by Jeff Mallory (English), Akira Ishida (Japanese)
A Bureaucratic Unit who rests beneath Kattelox Island. His function is to control the island's population and "Reinitialize" if the number grows too large.
- Affably Evil: Unfailingly polite. Courteous to what he believes are his superiors. Tries to help what he thinks is a malfunctioning unit. Treats genocide of the Carbons like it was taking out the trash.
- Captain Ersatz: Juno reminds some players of Xelloss from the Slayers series, from the perpetually closed eyes to the creepy carefree smile. Both characters are also voiced by Akira Ishida.
- Expy: Of Sigma. Both leave their heads behind after being defeated the first time, which then flies up and attaches to a larger body.
- Eyes Always Shut: He only opens his eyes once when he's reactivated, though they do change shape with his expressions when closed.
- Final Boss: In Legends 1.
- One-Winged Angel: After being defeated once, his head floats up and attaches to a larger body.
- You Gotta Have Pink Hair: His hair is a pink-violet color.
- Sera
Voiced by Danya Gensiorek (English), Akiko Yajima (Japanese)
A mysterious girl and Mother Unit found at Forbidden Island inside stasis who later helps the Diggers to uncover the mystery of the Mother Lode, guiding them to find the keys to find the ancient technology. Except she was lying. The keys are needed to active the "Mother Lode", which turned out to be the catastrophe Yuna said, hiding high up in Elysium to clone new humans and "erase" all life in the planet. She was the one who fought Mega Man when he descended to the planet after finding out he wanted to destroy the System, resulting in both of them being very badly injured and put to sleep by Yuna to keep them safe.
- Ambiguously Brown: Except in her second One-Winged Angel form.
- Belligerent Sexual Tension: May or may not have this with Mega Man Trigger.
- Clingy Jealous Girl: She is jealous of Mega Man Trigger because the Master shows him affections she would never have.
- Final Boss: In Legends 2.
- Freaky Friday Flip: After being defeated, her own body dies, but she somehow transfers her mind to Yuna's original empty body.
- Naked First Impression: She's nude when she first appears.
- One-Winged Angel: She does this twice during the final battle.
- Sibling Yin-Yang: The yang to Yuna's yin.
- Worthy Opponent: She regards Mega Man Trigger as one to her.
- You Gotta Have Blue Hair: Has bright green hair.
- Your Size May Vary: During the final battles, in both forms, she's a lot bigger than Volnutt.
- Zettai Ryouiki: A narrow band of skin is visible on her upper thigh.
- Geetz
Voiced by John Cleland (English)
A mysterious man who was found alongside Sera on Forbidden Island, he's the Servitor Unit for her and is almost always seen by her side. He and Sera attacks the Sulpher-Bottom after Mega Man Volnutt gathers all four keys, allowing Sera to escape with them. Gatz attempts to fight him, but only manages to seperate Geetz from the airship and thus Volnutt has to fight him on the deck.
- Ambiguously Brown
- One-Winged Angel: He can transform into a large golden birdlike Reaverbot.
- Sibling Yin-Yang: The yang to Gatz's yin.
- Taking You with Me: He pulls this on Volnutt after being defeated, critically wounding him.
- You Gotta Have Blue Hair: Just like Sera, he has bright green hair.
- Yuna
Voiced by Alison Lawrence (English), Maria Kawamura (Japanese)
A mysterious girl who appears right after Yuna is awakened from her stasis, and occupies the body of Roll's mother for most of the game. She is a Mother Unit just like Sera. At first, she disliked Mega Man until she understood his motives for stopping the System. However, she neither does help him or Sera.
- Ambiguously Brown: In her own body, at least.
- Expy: She really looks like Miku Hatsune (right down to the Twin Tails and Zettai Ryouiki) with darker skin and red eyes. One may wonder if she's the basis for Miku.
- Grand Theft Me: She takes over the body of Roll's mother for most of the game.
- Mission Control: She acts as Volnutt's spotter in the Elysium.
- Sibling Yin-Yang: The yin to Sera's yang.
- Unresolved Sexual Tension: May or may not have this with Mega Man Trigger.
- Twin Tails: Her original body.
- You Gotta Have Blue Hair: Another shock of green hair for a System unit.
- Zettai Ryouiki: In her own body again.
- Gatz
Voiced by John Cleland (English)
- Ambiguously Brown
- Heroic Sacrifice: In the final battle, he attempted to assist Mega Man Trigger by invading Sera's internal system to try and weaken her; it does work for a while until she noticed it and goes One-Winged Angel. The poor guy...
- One-Winged Angel: He can transform into a large silver birdlike Reaverbot.
- Sibling Yin-Yang: The yin to Geetz's yang.
- You Gotta Have Blue Hair: Rounding out the four is more green hair.
