For starters, he was the co-creator of Rockman/Mega Man (alongside Akira Kitamura) and recently split from Capcom to form his own company named Comcept.

Despite all the praise he deserves, he more or less had a long-term rivalry with Capcom's money-driven marketing for the Mega Man series, and this resulted in complete disregard to his wants, culminating in Mega Man X 6-X8 and an altered plot to what Inafune had planned for the Mega Man Zero series. After more madness with the games and the production of Mega Man Legends 3, Inafune left the company, which caused Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 to be what it is now, and presumably also caused the scrapping of Legends 3.

Also makes a cameo at Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2, as a summon!

Following his cameo at said game, people thought he was working on a new project called Overwhelming Game Infinite Souls. They were wrong. His real new game is called King of Pirates.
