Dungeon Keeper/YMMV

  • Demonic Spiders: High level vampires in the hands of particularly-aggressive enemy keepers can really do some damage.
  • Evil Is Cool
  • Game Breaker: Convert the Lord Of The Land to your side... Then use the special items to carry him to the next level. You would be amazed how easier the next levels get when the initial waves of heroes are face to face with a stage boss that works for you.
    • Kind of for the Horned Reaper. If you put him in a temple, he'll pretty much remain happy.
    • If you can get the Avatar on your side, you've pretty much won.
  • Goddamned Bats:
  • Porting Disaster: Some argue that the GOG release of the sequel is this due to it apparently crashing a lot in Windows 7.
  • Replacement Scrappy: Salamanders are generally regarded as weaker less useful versions of Dragons.
  • Squick: The Dungeon Heart in Dungeon Keeper 1 (a glowing chest that contains the dungeon's life force) is replaced by a literal heart in the sequel.
  • That One Attack: The Samurai has the lethal lightning bolt attack, much like the mistresses. He learns said spell at level six.
  • That One Level: "Woodsong" in the second game. You're on a time limit and have to build up a massive force, rush your way through an enemy encampment and lay siege to an enemy keeper while the whole heroic army bears down on your army (and your now-garrisoned dungeon) from behind. And if one of the heroes deals the killing blow to your enemy, you fail the mission. The 1.7 patch makes the level much easier by quadrupling the time limit. You probably still won't beat it, but the reason is completely different from before.
  • Ugly Cute: Imps.
