American Dragon: Jake Long/Trivia
- Dueling Shows: with The Life and Times of Juniper Lee. Contary to popular belief, this show did not copy off of American Dragon. Both of their respective animation studios finished within a year of each other and neither creator knew of the other's project till they were pretty much on the airwaves. Ironically both shows lasted three seasons and were subject of Executive Meddling.
- Hey, It's That Voice!: Many, MANY examples, including, oddly enough (given the shared Chinese influence), a large part of the voice cast of Avatar: The Last Airbender, most notably Dante Basco (aka Zuko) as Jake Long, Mae Whitman (aka Katara) as Rose/Huntsgirl, and Keone Young (aka Jeong-Jeong) as Grandpa. Other familiar voices include John Dimaggio (Bender from Futurama) as Fu Dog, Clancy Brown (among other things, Lex Luthor, Neo Cortex and Mr. Krabs) as Dark Dragon, and veteran voice actress Tara Strong and Grey DeLisle (aka Azula from Avatar: The Last Airbender).
- Likewise, in France, Jake and Rose are STILL Zuko and Katara.
- Jake's parents are played by prominent voice actors Jeff Bennett and Lauren Tom. Both also voice a major villain: Jeff voices The Huntsman and Lauren voices Councilor Chang.
- Trixie is Taranee Cook.
- Eli Pandarus is Jafar.
- The Dark Lord Chuckles the Silly Piggy is Professor Rotwood.
- Dr. Christina Yang is Sun Park, the Korean Dragon.
- Cory Baxter and Xander Harris are members of the Huntsclan.
- Ron Stoppable is Jake's annoying younger cousin, Greggy.
- Pim Diffy is Jake's sister, Haley.
- Hynden Walch is at least one of the Gorgon Sisters (if not all three of them).
- Bob Slydell tried to steal Haley's loose dragon tooth.
- Cad Bane briefly became the principal of Jake's school.
- Eliza Thornberry was Jake's soul-sucking date in the episode Dragon Breath.
- Yan-Yan, Fu Dog's rival, is voiced by Tia Carrere.
- Cupid is voiced by Nestor Carbonell.
- The mother of the Strigoi in Bite Father, Bite Son is voiced by Tress MacNeille.
- Debbie Berwick and London Tipton/Tia are two Alpha Bitch cheerleaders.
- The young giant that ran away to join K.E.W.L. was voiced by Daryl Sabara.
- The siren that tried to kill Jake in Siren Says is voiced by Ruby from the remake of The Hills Have Eyes.
- Malina is Jake's replacement girlfriend for Rose.
- Dee Bradley Baker voiced many magical creatures.
- The voice actor for Fred Nerk and Nigel Thrall, Adam Wylie, was one of the voice actors for Curly.
- In the Japanese dub:
- Jake Long is Barnagher Links and Roxas
- Spud is Rufus
- Trixie is Crimson Viper and Subaru Kujou
- One of the Gorgon sisters is Hachiel
- What Could Have Been: Read the Executive Meddling and Screwed by the Network entries, and project that kind of treatment across two whole seasons.
- Originally, the plot with the Aztec skulls and Dark Dragon plots were supposed to be based in different seasons, the Aztec Skulls plot taking place in season 2, with the Huntsman plot in season 3, likely explaining the fact that the plots weren't given enough time to develop: There wasn't enough time to properly explain all the plot points because they weren't getting another season. Other ideas involved a possibly Darker and Edgier approach with the finale of the second season, involving Sun Park being thrown into a volcano, and also revealing that Jake's Grandma was Chang, both ideas were discarded for being "Too Jetix". Rose was also supposed to stay in New York, but Disney said it was "too confusing" and sent her to Hong Kong. A lot of these ideas would probably have helped the show in the long run.
- The Wiki Rule: The American Dragon Jake Long Wiki.
- Word of God: Steve Loter (Director) said that Rose would have came back to New York after "Hong Kong Longs" had the series continued and that Jake and her would be together.
