Stonewall Jackson Monument
The Stonewall Jackson Monument, is a partially deconstructed monument with a remaining granite pedestal that previously contained an equestrian statue installed along Richmond, Virginia's Monument Avenue, in the United States.[1]

Description
An equestrian statue once commemorated Stonewall Jackson, depicting the Confederate general on his horse Little Sorrel. The bronze sculpture measured approximately 20 x 7 x 18 ft, and formerly rested on the remaining Mt. Airy granite base measuring approximately 20 x 9 x 18 ft.[1]
History
The cornerstone was laid on June 3, 1915, and the monument was unveiled on October 11, 1919.[1]
The artwork was surveyed by the Smithsonian Institution's "Save Outdoor Sculpture!" program in 1995.[1]
On July 1, 2020, the statue was removed from its pedestal on Monument Avenue at the direction of Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney after the mayor enticed the Governor to extend a State of Emergency to ensure a plausible time period was available for the events of that day.[2][3]
