Solaris Barba

Solaris De la Luna Barba Cañizales ( born in March 1, 1999) it’s a Panamanian model, dancer, and winner of the title Miss World Americas 2018, at the international Miss World contest, after being crowned as Miss World Panama in the same year, receiving the opportunity of representing Panama her native country, in the mentioned contest. With only 18 years of age and with the dream of helping the people all around the world, with no experience at all about the modeling world and beauty contest Barba made the decision to head in to it and give it a turn on her life, through her participation.

Personal Life

Barba was born in the Republic of Panama, and was raised in the west side of the country, in a small town called Arraijan. She is the youngest of 3 sisters, daughter of a hard working dad dedicated to the construction, mean while her mother took the decision to leave her working days so she can dedicate her full time to be a grate housewife.

Accomplish her elementary  and middle school in 3 different schools, completing her last years in the school called Instituto Justo Arosemena, were she graduated with the title of Bachelor of Commerce in the year of 2016. Highlighting the fact that since she was young she loved art, participating in all the extracurricular activities she could, from acting, singing, dancing, sports, school clubs and in due course in small school beauty contest known in Panama as “comparsas” (a crowd of people who cheers any type of event in this case, their favorite queens).

Artistic Career

At the age of 10 her and a few friends were invited to be a part of Urban dancing Group, who was focused on the Urban Genre such as Hip-Hop and Dancehall, were she took her first steps in her formation as dancer, at the age of 13 she enters in a few courses of a recognized dancing academy in Panama, were after finishing them, they offer her the opportunity to enter the group of professional dancer as a trainee, here she reinforces her knowledge in distinct genre of dancing, becoming part of the professional dancers. She was a dancer of a Panamanian TV show called “Tu Mañana”, from 14 years of age until she turned 16; she has participated in different stage presentation with Panamanian singers, cultural events, TV commercials and music videos.

At the age of 16 with the wish of expanding her artistic knowledge and with the help of her family, started in the dancing world of Classic Dance, by taking Ballet classes such as classic ballet and modern dance, starting from the beginners levels, and working her way to the top, highlighting once again she had no knowledge in any type of ballet.

Step by step she work her way with a lot of effort, until she manage to evolve, and got the opportunity to participate in theaters plays such as “Snow White” and as a star performer in an independent theater play called “Habaneras”.

Pageantry

Barba of Herrera was crowned Miss World Panama 2018 during the grand coronation of Señorita Panamá 2018 pageant held on June 7, 2018 at the Roberto Duran Arena in Panama City. She succeeded last year's winner Julianne Brittón and represented her country at the Miss World 2018 competition in China 2018 December.[1] She was one of the Top 12 semifinalists at Miss World 2018 and awarded as the Miss World Americas 2018.
