Sierra Leone–Spain relations

Sierra Leone–Spain relations are the bilateral and diplomatic relations between these two countries. Sierra Leone does not have an embassy in Madrid[1] but his embassy in London is accredited to Spain but has 3 consulates in Barcelona, Madrid and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.[2] Spain also does not have an embassy in Sierra Leone but its embassy in Abidjan, Ivory Coast is accredited for this country, but has a consulate in Freetown.[3]

Diplomatic relations

The Spanish Embassy in Abidjan is accredited before the Freetown authorities. For its part, Sierra Leone covers Spain from its Embassy in London.[4]

Cooperation

Sierra Leone has not traditionally been a country of cooperation for Spain, nor does it appear in the 2013-2016 Master Plan that nevertheless considers the West African region as a priority, so the mechanisms that allow countries to take full advantage of the multilateral funds allocated to the region. Therefore, the main lines of action of Spanish cooperation in Sierra Leone are framed in the multilateral sphere, in general, and in the ECOWAS area, in particular.[5]
