At Eurovision
For the Eurovision Song Contest 2004, a semi-final round was introduced in order to accommodate the influx of nations that wanted to compete in the contest. Since Poland placed 7th in the previous contest year, Poland automatically qualified to compete in the final along with the Big Four countries and nine other nations that were also successful in the 2003 Contest.
Poland performed 19th, after Ireland and before United Kingdom Blue Café gave a powerful and exciting performance with a band present on stage. The lead singer, Tatiana, wore a revealing see-through dress which was darkened at the inappropriate places. Despite an elaborate performance, Poland only scored 27 points, which placed then at 17th. As Poland failed to reach the top 12 in the final, the country was forced to compete in the semi-final of the 2005 Contest.
