History

In September 2008 the school opened a sixth form, which is combined with Eston Park and Gilbrook's sixth form building, which was created from the same design.

Nunthorpe School converted to Academy status on 1 October 2012.[1]

A former student was Aimee Willmott who is an Olympic swimmer. Another Olympian and former pupil is long jumper Chris Tomlinson.[2]

Awards

A former headteacher of Nunthorpe School, Sir John Rowling, received a knighthood, in 2003, for services to education.
