KCWT-CD
KCWT-CD, virtual channel 21 (UHF digital channel 23), is a low-powered, Class A primary CW+-affiliate and secondary Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) member television station licensed to McAllen, Texas, United States. Owned by Entravision Communications, it is sister to McAllen-licensed Univision affiliate KNVO (channel 48) and, as well as two other McAllen-licensed low-power stations: Fox/MyNetworkTV affiliate KMBH-LD, channel 67 (and its translators, Brownsville-licensed Class A KXFX-CD and Harlingen-licensed full-power KFXV, channel 60) and Class A UniMás affiliate KTFV-CD (channel 32). Entravision also operates Mexican station (and fellow CW+ affiliate) XHRIO-TDT (channel 15). KCWT-CD, KNVO, KFXV, KMBH-LD, KTFV-CD, and XHRIO-TDT share studios on North Jackson Road in McAllen; KCWT-CD's transmitter is located in La Feria, Texas.

Previously, KCWT was a low-powered translator of KXFX-CA and KTFV-CA.
History
Until 2014, KCWT broadcast on analog channel 30. KCWT launched a digital feed on RF channel 23 that March;[1] however, through the use of Program and System Information Protocol, the station maps to virtual channel 21, as nearby Mexican station XHAB-TDT in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, whose digital broadcasts use RF channel 30, also mapped to virtual channel 30 rather than its analog channel 7 due to Mexico not fully following the PSIP standard. (Channel 23 is itself unavailable to KCWT as a virtual channel, as it is used in the Rio Grande Valley by KVEO-TV.[2] Furthermore, XHAB-TDT has since changed its PSIP to channel 8.) Even before then, KCWT, as had previous CW affiliate KSFE-LD (channel 67, now KFXV-LD), has long branded as "CW 21" in reflection of its channel 21 slot on area cable systems.
