At Eurovision

In 1996, for the only time in Eurovision history, an audio-only pre-qualifying round was held in March with all countries wishing to compete in Oslo (with the exception of host nation Norway who were exempted) hoping not to finish in the bottom seven places of 29 and face early elimination. "Sjúbídú" finished 10th with 59 points, qualifying Iceland for the final.

On the night of the final Mjöll performed 19th in the running order, following Finland and preceding Poland. At the close of voting "Sjúbídú" had received 51 points (the highest a 10 from Ireland), placing Iceland 13th of the 23 entries. The Icelandic jury awarded its 12 points to Estonia.[1]
