Diogo Rosado

Diogo Jorge Rosado (born 21 February 1990) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Romanian club CS Concordia Chiajna.

Club career

Sporting

Rosado was born in Peniche, Leiria District. A product of Sporting CP's prolific youth system, he made his professional debuts in the 2009–10 season, being loaned to Lisbon neighbours Real S.C. in Massamá, as the third division side was coached by Filipe Ramos – a former Sporting player.[1]

Still owned by the Lions, Rosado moved to C.D. Feirense for 2011–12,[2] making his Primeira Liga debut on 14 August in a 0–0 home draw against C.D. Nacional (two minutes played)[3] and eventually starting in 12 of his league appearances and scoring twice as the campaign ended in relegation.[4][5]

Blackburn Rovers

On 31 August 2012, Rosado signed for Blackburn Rovers in the Football League Championship, on a three-year deal.[6] On 31 January of the following year, however, he was loaned to S.L. Benfica B until June, with the option to make the move permanent.[7][8]

Vitória de Setúbal

On 23 August 2013, Rosado had his contract at Blackburn terminated by mutual consent.[9] He returned to his country shortly after, and penned a two-year deal with Vitória F.C. in the top level.[10]

Later years

Subsequently, Rosado rarely settled with a club, representing in quick succession AC Arles-Avignon (France),[11] F.C. Paços de Ferreira,[12][13] Ermis Aradippou FC (Cypriot First Division), Progresso da Lunda Sul, C.D. Primeiro de Agosto (both in the Angolan Girabola)[14][15] and CS Gaz Metan Mediaș (Romania).[16] On 7 February 2019, he signed a contract with FC Farul Constanța in the latter country's Liga II alongside compatriots João Diogo and Pedro Celestino.[17]

International career

All youth levels comprised, Rosado won 46 caps for Portugal and scored four goals. He made his debut for the under-21 side on 9 August 2011, starting and being replaced during the second half of the 1–1 friendly draw to Slovakia.[18]
