Daichi Miura

Daichi Miura (三浦 大知, Miura Daichi, born 24 August 1987) is a Japanese singer, songwriter, dancer, and choreographer. He belongs to Rising Production and signed a record contract with Avex.

Career

Miura debuted as a singer in 1997 with the group Folder, consisting of students from Okinawa Actors School, which he attended. He left the group in 2000 due to his voice changing as a result of puberty. On 1 August 2004, he declared he would come back as a solo artist, and did so in March 2005 with the single "Keep It Goin' On".[1][2] Since his solo debut, he has released 22 singles and 7 albums.

He performed Kamen Rider Ex-Aid's opening theme song "Excite",[3] released as a single in January 2017. In April 2018, he is assigned Campaign Character, for "NHK World", the international broadcasting service.[4] In October 2018, it was announced that Miura will perform Dragon Ball Super: Broly theme song "Blizzard", which was released as a single on 19 December.[5]

Miura has a cameo as a "prepper" called The Musician in Hideo Kojima's 2019 video game Death Stranding.[6]

He often writes the lyrics and music to his songs, himself. Most of his songs were choreographed by himself since "Inside Your Head" was released.

Personal life

Miura announced his marriage to a non-celebrity woman on 1 January 2015.[7] His first son was born on 9 December 2016.[8]
