Climate

Comano and its nearby, although the sea is only 30 kilometres (19 mi) away, have a climate considerably colder than the sea shore. This is mainly due to the nearness of the Appennino. Summer is hot with mean high temperatures of 26 °C (79 °F), but nights are cool with mean lows of 13 °C (55 °F). Summer thunderstorms are frequent because the hot and humid air rises from the sea and condenses against the Apennine slopes. Winter is typically cold and damp. Mean lows are about −2 °C (28 °F) and highs are about 6 °C (43 °F), but during the night is the sky is clear the temperature may fall down reaching −10 °C (14 °F) or less.
