Before Eurovision
Eurocàsting 2004
32 competitors were narrowed down into only 3 via preliminary auditions: Marian van de Wal, Mar Capdevila and Ishtar Ruiz.
The artist selection show Eurocàsting 2004 was held on 19 December 2004 at the Centre de Congressos in Andorra la Vella, and was hosted by Meri Picart and Josep Lluís Trabal. Each singer performed two songs in Catalan, and the winner was determined by a combination of votes from SMS voting (2/7) and the votes from a professional jury (5/7). As there was a tie at the end of the voting between Marian van de Wal and Mar Capdevila, the youngest jury member selected Marian van de Wal as the Andorran representative at the 2005 contest.

At Eurovision
At Eurovision, Marian and her team (which included Anabel Conde who came second for Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest 1995) wore green dresses, while the shirtless male dancers wore black pants and held black feathers. Everyone had simple choreography except the male dancers who moved around the stage in a more complex way.
Because Andorra failed to qualify in 2004 Marian van de Wal was forced to compete in the Eurovision semi-final. The country performed 18th in the semi-final. It finished in 23rd place with 27 points, failing to qualify to the grand final. Therefore, Andorra had to compete in the semi-final again in ESC 2006.
The spokesperson who revealed Andorra's votes for other countries was Ruth Gumbau, a journalist and ATV presenter.[1]
