Administrative divisions of Chernihiv Oblast

Chernihiv Oblast is subdivided into districts (raions) and city municipalities (mis'krada or misto), officially known as territories governed by city councils.[1]

Administrative divisions after 2020

As of July 2020, the number of districts is in the process of being reduced to five.[2] These are:

  1. Chernihiv (Чернігівський район), the center is in the city of Chernihiv;
  2. Koriukivka (Корюківський район);
  3. Novhorod-Siverskyi (Новгород-Сіверський район), the center is in the town of Novhorod-Siverskyi;
  4. Nizhyn (Ніжинський район), the center is in the town of Nizhyn;
  5. Pryluky (Прилуцький район), the center is in the town of Pryluky.
