A League of Their Own (upcoming TV series)
A League of Their Own is an upcoming American comedy web television series co-created by Will Graham and Abbi Jacobson, who also stars. It is an adaptation of the 1992 film of the same name with new characters and story lines, about the formation of a World War II era women's professional baseball team. Chanté Adams, D'Arcy Carden, Roberta Colindrez, Gbemisola Ikumel, Kelly McCormack, and Priscilla Delgado also star. Episodes will run for one hour on Amazon's Prime Video. A premiere date has not been set.[3][1]

Plot
The series "follows brand-new characters and begins with the formation of the league in 1943 and follows the league and its players as they fight to keep it alive through close games, injuries, sexual awakenings and road trips across a rapidly changing U.S."[2]

Production
In 2017 Abbi Jacobson and Will Graham approached Sony Pictures with the idea to reboot Penny Marshall's 1992 film A League of Their Own. In March 2020, it was announced that the series was in development at Amazon.[4] It is the second television adaptation of A League of Their Own, following a short lived 1993 CBS series.[4]
Jamie Babbit directed the pilot episode, which was shot in southern California.[2] Babbitt and Hailey Weirengo are also executive producers along with writers Will Graham and Jacobson, who also co-stars.[2]
On February 14, 2020, cast members D'Arcy Caden, Chanté Adams, Roberta Colindrez, Gbemisola Ikumel, Kelly McCormack, Melanie Field, and Priscilla Delgado were announced.[2]
On August 6, 2020, it was announced that Amazon had ordered the series. A premiere date has not been announced.[3]
