2020 Las Vegas Raiders season

The 2020 season is the Las Vegas Raiders' 51st in the National Football League, their 61st overall, and their first in the Las Vegas Valley. The Raiders will look to improve on their 7–9 record from the previous season and make the playoffs for the first time since the 2016 season; with two wins, the Raiders will become the third team originating in the American Football League to reach 500 career wins.

On January 22, 2020, the Raiders officially announced their relocation to the Las Vegas area. This marks the third re-location of the franchise and will be the team's first ever season as the only professional football team in their own metropolitan area. The team shared their market with the San Francisco 49ers during both of their tenures in Oakland, as well as with the Los Angeles Rams, when they were based in Los Angeles. Allegiant Stadium, located in Paradise, Nevada, is scheduled to be ready to use by the start of the 2020 season, and thus, the Raiders' relocation from Oakland to Las Vegas will be complete.

This season will also mark head coach Jon Gruden's first time facing his former team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, whom he coached from 2002–08. Gruden also led the Bucs to their first Super Bowl title in Super Bowl XXXVII, defeating his then-former team, the Oakland Raiders, whom traded him to Tampa for first round picks in 2002 and 2003, second round picks in 2002 and 2004, and $8 million in cash during the 2002 offseason. 2020 will also be the team's third season under Gruden since his rehiring by the organization (seventh overall).

As a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, all games at Allegiant Stadium will take place behind closed doors.[1]
