Get in
- By plane
From the Landvetter and Gothenburg City airports, the airport bus to Gothenburg (going directly from the airport building, ticket by creditcard from driver) and then train is preferred. From Copenhagen airport, Öresundståg trains go directly from the arrival area. From Halmstad airport, there are local buses.
- By train
Public transport to the Halland coast cities is by the Öresundståg trains. They connect from e.g. Gothenburg, Malmö or Copenhagen. To Hylte use bus from Halmstad. Between Gothenburg and Kungsbacka there are also Västtrafik trains. Resrobot is a search engine for all public transport inside Sweden. Tickets for Öresundståg train can be bought with credit card in machines at the station. They are not sold onboard, must be prebought.
- By bus
Some longdistance buses between Oslo and Copenhagen stop in Halmstad, others don't. They don't stop at other places in Halland. Trains would be recommended.
- By car
From Denmark, Norway or Gothenburg, use the E6/E20 highway. From Stockholm to Varberg use road E4, 40 and 41. From Stockholm to Halmstad use road E4 and 25.
Get around
Inside the municipalities there are buses. Public transportation in Halland is run by Hallandstrafiken. Between the cities, except Hylte, use the train. Public transportation in Kungsbacka is run by Västtrafik.
