Kungsbacka

Kungsbacka is in the north of Halland on the west coast of Sweden. The municipality of Kungsbacka has around 74,000 inhabitants and the city has around 10,500 inhabitants.

By plane

From the Landvetter and Gothenburg City airports, the airport bus to Gothenburg (going directly from the airport building, ticket by creditcard from driver) and then train is preferred. From Copenhagen airport, Öresundståg trains go directly from the arrival area to Kungsbacka (3 hours travel time).

By train

Between Gothenburg and Kungsbacka there are Västtrafik trains. From Copenhagen, Malmö, Halmstad and cities in between, use the Öresundståg trains. The train station is in central Kungsbacka.

By bus

There are Västtrafik buses to the coast of Kungsbacka municipality, e.g. Särö, but if going to Kungsbacka use the train.

By car

Use the E6 highway. From Landvetter airport follow the roads 40 and E6.

See

  • Tjolöholm Slott, a mansion built 1898-1904, approx 10 km south of Kungsbacka. It is located on a peninsula in the Kungsbacka Fjord on the Kattegat coast. Tjoloholm Castle was designed in the Arts and Crafts style by architect Lars Israel Wahlmann. There are guided tours in English in the summer months.

Kungsmässan is a large shopping centre with around 90 stores.
