Wistia Inc. is a video-software company located in Cambridge, Massachusetts.[4] Wistia provides video-hosting services for businesses, with analytics and marketing functionality.[5] As of 2017, a claimed 300,000 companies use Wistia.[6][7] As of 2018, Wistia had 87 employees.[8]

History
Wistia was founded in 2006 by Brendan Schwartz and Chris Savage.[6] The two founders met at Brown University, where Chris was a film student and Brendan was a computer engineering major.[9] Wistia's first client was a medical devices company.[9][10]
Funding
In 2018, Wistia raised $17 million[11][12] worth of debt financing from Accel-KKR, a technology-focused private-equity firm.[6]
Wistia also raised $200,000 in debt in 2009.[13] Previously, the company raised $1.4 million in two rounds from angel investors, in 2008 and 2010.[6] Angel investors include Renesys CEO Ashton Peery.[14]
In 2018, Wistia reported annual revenue of $32M.[11]
Awards and recognition
In 2018, G2 Crowd named Wistia one of the 25 best companies in Boston.[15] In 2017, it was named one of the top company cultures in America by Entrepreneur magazine.[16]
