Wayne Evans (rugby league)

Wayne Evans (born 3 October 1974) is a former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s, and 2000s. He played for the Melbourne Storm of the NRL. He also previously played for the Northern Eagles and Western Reds, as well as for the London Broncos in the Super League competition.

Early life

Evans was educated at St Gregory's College, Campbelltown, where he represented 1993 Australian Schoolboys.

Playing career

Beginning his NRL career playing for Northern Eagles and Perth Reds.

Evans made his Melbourne Storm debut in round 4 of the 1998 NRL season against the Bears.[1] Continuing with Melbourne Storm he went onto win the 1999 NRL Grand Final and the traveled to England to contest the 2000 World Club Challenge against Super League Champions St Helens R.F.C., with Evans playing as a prop and scoring a try in the victory.
