WJLS (AM)
WJLS is a news/talk formatted broadcast radio station licensed to Beckley, West Virginia, serving Southeastern West Virginia. WJLS is owned and operated by West Virginia Radio Company of Raleigh, LLC. The station began broadcasting in 1939, the first radio station in Beckley. From 1943 to 1990 WJLS(AM) was a CBS affiliate. The station had a country music format in the 1970s and 1980s. In 1990 it swapped formats with WJLS-FM. In May 2017 WJLS switched from southern gospel to news/talk. (info taken from stationintel.com)
