Accident
The aircraft took off from Moscow's Vnukovo Airport at 06:59 UTC and landed at Usinsk about 09:20 UTC (12:20 LT).[3] The aircraft touched down about 15 meters ahead of the runway threshold and went through heaps of snow which caused the two main gear struts to collapse.[4] The aircraft then skidded on its nose gear and belly to a standstill off the runway, which caused damage to a wing and resulted in a fuel spill. No fire broke out. Photos and videos from the scene show the evacuation via slides and overwing exits. According to official reports all occupants evacuated the aircraft safely, however, there were claims of one or two injured passengers.[5][6]
Investigation
There are currently no investigation results available by Russia’s federal Investigative Committee. Utair claims that an abrupt windshear is to blame for the accident.[7]
