Turkmen Agricultural University Named after S.A. Niyazov

Turkmen Agricultural University Named after S.A. Niyazov (Turkmen: S.A.Nyýazow adyndaky Türkmen oba hojalyk Uniwersitety) is the largest higher education institution in Turkmenistan. This university only provides studies in the fields of agriculture. It is named after Saparmurat Niyazov, Turkmenistan's first president.

History

In 1930, the Agricultural Institute was constructed in the capital city of Ashgabat.

Until 1998, the institution was named after Mikhail Kalinin. In 1998, was awarded university status, and had a name change.

In 2012, the training center CLAAS[1] was opened.

Faculty

The university consists of 16 departments, including the Department of Ruhnama and the Department of Computer Technology near the rector of the university.

gollark: Also, I suspect most people don't actually care very much. I mean, abstractly, if you ask people "would you like people to not get malaria/be cured of malaria", they'll say yes. But people generally do *not* really care enough to actually pay the various charities which are able to provide malaria nets and stuff, despite these being extremely effective at lives saved per $.
