Thitiphan Puangjan

Thitiphan Puangjan, also known as Thitiphan Puangchan (Thai: ฐิติพันธ์ พ่วงจันทร์, RTGS: Thitiphan Phuangchan, pronounced [tʰìʔ.tìʔ.pʰān pʰûa̯ŋ.t͡ɕān]; born September 1, 1993), simply known as New (Thai: นิว, RTGS: Nio, pronounced [nīw]), is a Thai professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Thai League 1 club BG Pathum United and the Thailand national team.

Style of play

Early in his career with Muangthong United, Thitiphan usually played right-back. Now Thitiphan usually plays in central midfielder. A hardworking box-to-box player. He is known for his pace, work-rate and stamina, create attacking chances from midfield. He also possess good technical, as well as notable defensive attributes.

Personal life

Thitiphan is the son of Pairote Puangchan, who is a former national team player. His name can be either translated as Puangchan or Puangjan, due to lack of standardized translation of Thai language.

BG Pathum

In 2018, he tranferred to BG Pathum United F.C.[2]

Oita Trinita

He joined Oita Trinita on loan in 2019 after Bangkok glass is relegated.[3]

International career

Thitiphan won the AFF U-19 Youth Championship with Thailand U19, and played in 2012 AFC U-19 Championship. In March 2013, he scored his first goal in the senior team against Lebanon scored two goals in the 2015 Asian Cup qualification. In December 2013, he represented Thailand U23 in the 2013 Southeast Asian Games. He won the 2015 Southeast Asian Games with Thailand U23. In 2016, Thitiphan was selected in Thailand U23 squad for 2016 AFC U-23 Championship in Qatar.
