The Lumberjack (newspaper)

The Lumberjack is a weekly student-run newspaper at Humboldt State University[1]. It has served the Humboldt State campus and community since 1929[2]. Five thousand copies are printed weekly. Copies of the paper are distributed throughout the HSU campus, Arcata, Eureka and McKinleyville. The Lumberjack has a website that the student editors run themselves where extra stories, videos and podcasts are posted. The paper covers news relevant to the students and faculty of Humboldt State and major news relevant to the residents of Humboldt County. This includes coverage of university issues, protests, rallies, athletics, the local music scene and quirky events from the local police log[3].

It is funded through the sales of advertisements supplemented by the Instructionally Related Activities fee from the university.

Other student-run media outlets at Humboldt State include: El Leñador monthly bilingual newspaper, The Osprey student-run magazine, KRFH student-run radio and KRFH radio news.

gollark: I don't understand what this is actually doing.
gollark: Actually, when a piece is promoted, it always was the appropriate socially-approved gender for its role.
gollark: Did you know? You can literally learn more listening to a lizard in an hour than you would in a full day at a university. It’s hard to walk around with a gecko balanced on your shoulder, but you get used to the stares.
gollark: Why not just not use the bot...?
gollark: fffff
