The Demonata

The Demonata is a ten-book series by author Darren Shan. It deals with the world of demons. The series is told by three different protagonists: Grubbs Grady, Kernel Fleck, and Bec MacConn. The series is notable for its extensive graphic violence, despite being aimed towards children.

Plot

The series centers around three protagonists: Grubitsch "Grubbs" Grady, Cornelius "Kernel" Fleck and Bec MacConn. Although they meet each other at various points, they are from separate times; Grubbs lives in the present day, Kernel in the 1970s and Bec in around 450AD. The books detail their fight against the demon master Lord Loss, his many demon familiars and the mysterious Shadow, who promises to destroy the human universe and to even stop death. Together with The Disciples, the main characters thwart the Demonata's attempts at world destruction multiple times.

"Grubbs" Grady

Grubitsch "Grubbs" Grady is the protagonist of Lord Loss, Slawter, Blood Beast, Demon Apocalypse, Wolf Island, and Hell's Heroes. Grady makes appearances in Death's Shadow and Dark Calling. In most of the books, Grady is afflicted by or is trying to fight lycanthropy.

Kernel Fleck

Kernel Fleck is the protagonist and narrator in Demon Thief and Dark Calling. He makes an appearance in every book starting from Demon Apocalypse.

Bec MacConn

Bec MacConn is the protagonist and narrator in Bec and Death's Shadow. Bec took over Bill-E's body in Demon Apocalypse in the cave, making her alive again. She is able to recall all of Bill-E's memories and emotions.
