Sumedh Mudgalkar

Sumedh Mudgalkar (born 2 November 1996) is an Indian film and television actor as well as a dancer. He made his television debut with the Channel V TV serial Dil Dosti Dance. Sumedh is best known for his work on RadhaKrishn as Lord Krishna and Shushim in Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat.

Dance

Mudgalkar has never undergone formal training. He has learned dance by watching performances on the internet. He made his dance debut on a Marathi reality show Dance Maharashtra Dance in 2012 and was one of the finalists. He appeared in Dance India Dance Season 4 in 2013 where he reached the finals. He also received the title of Beatking by Shruti Merchant.[1][2]

Career

Mudgalkar made his acting debut in Channel V’s Dil Dosti Dance, a dance based youth show where he portrayed the role of Raghav aka Raghavendra Pratap. Then he became known for portraying the negative role of Yuvraj Sushim in the Indian historical drama Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat.[3]

Sumedh next moved to the Marathi film industry with a cameo in the 2016 film Ventilator as Karan. He then appeared in Manjha which was his first film as a lead actor. He portrayed the role of a psychopath named Vicky.[4] In 2018, Sumedh played the role of Salil in Bucket List.[5]

Since 2018, Sumedh is playing the role of Lord Krishna in Swastik Picture's magnum opus Radhakrishn which started on 1 October on Star Bharat. In 2018, he featured in a Marathi Music Video "Bekhabar Kashi Tu" along with Sanskruti Balgude.

Awards and nominations

He was nominated in the category of Favourite Debut Actor in Maharashtracha Favourite Kon Awards 2017 for his role in Manjha. He won three awards at the Radio City Cine Awards - Best Actor, Best Male Debut and Best Villain for Manjha.

Sumedh was nominated in the category of Best Actor for film Manjha in Sanskruti Kaladarpan Awards 2018. Sumedh was nominated in the category of Best Actor for his debut film Manjha in the Marathi Filmfare Awards 2018. Fresh face of the year 2018 in ABP telebratione awards.

In 2019, he won the Indian Telly Award for Best Onscreen Couple (Jury) with his co-star Mallika Singh for their show RadhaKrishn.[6] Then, in 2019, he also won the Gold Award for Best Actor Debut for his role of Krishn in Radhakrishn.[7] Also, he was the regional winner from India in the 2019 Asian Academy Creative Awards for best actor in a leading role for his role of Krishn.[8] He also won the Most Popular Jodi Award with Mallika Singh at the 2019 News India 18 Stardom Awards.[9]
