Sony α7 III
The Sony α7 III (model ILCE-7M3) is a Full-frame mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera manufactured by Sony.[1][2][3] It was announced[4] on 26 February 2018 as the successor to the Sony α7 II and available April 10, 2018. Described by Sony as "the basic model," the camera shares many features with the high-end Sony α7R III and α9 models.[5]

Features
The camera features several advancements over the previous model, the α7 II, incorporating some features from the higher-end α7R III and α9.[6]
- 24 MP full-frame BSI CMOS sensor
- 693 Phase Detection AF Points with 93% coverage, inherited from α9 and 425 contrast AF points
- Continuous eye autofocus mode called Eye AF with High Tracking ability
- 5-axis optical in-body image stabilization with a 5.0 step shutter speed advantage
- 10 fps continuous shooting (mechanical or silent)
- Multiple 4K (3840x2160) video modes: 4K/24p oversampled from 6K sensor output, or 4K/30p oversampled from 5K cropped portion of sensor
- Full HD (1920x1080) video at 120 fps
- Larger 'Z'-series (NP-FZ100) battery from α9 and α7R III that is rated at 710 shots (CIPA measurement) - offering the world's longest battery life of any mirrorless camera

Compared to its predecessor, Sony α7 II
The Sony α7 III improved in a number of aspects compared to its predecessor, α7 II, which was released in November of 2014, 4 years earlier than the 3rd generation.
The 2nd generation model can only record a Full HD (1920x1080) movie, and only shoots a 5 fps continuous burst, the α7 III films in four times as high resolution and takes a twice as fast burst. The maximum ISO sensitivity is also two times higher (25,600 vs 51,200) on the newer model. Although the native resolution of the image sensor is the same in the two cameras (24 MP), the α7 III has a different, upgraded one in it. The α7 II only has 117 autofocus points, the III has 576 more (exactly 693), so it's more accurate. Because of the new battery, the battery life of the α7 III is a lot longer (710 vs 340 frames), but a battery grip is available for both models, straight from Sony. There are not double SD card slots, touch screen or Bluetooth in the 2nd generation, but these are present in the newer model. However, for some reason, the α7 ii has a higher resolution back display than its successor (1,230,000 dots vs 922,000 dots). In terms of buttons and dials, they are almost identical, but the α7 II lacks the joystick and the two models have a different button layout.
