ShortsTV

ShortsTV is a cable and satellite television channel dedicated to short film including Academy Award nominated short films.[3][4] It is franchise owned and operated by Shorts International and AMC Networks International.[2] The channel launched in Europe on November 26, 2008 and in the United States on February 17, 2010.[1] It is available in 40 million homes worldwide.[5][6]

Academy Award nominated shorts theatrical distribution

Starting in the 2000s ShortsTV has theatrically distributed all the Academy Award nominated short films.[3][4][7][8][9]

Programming

The channel broadcasts a selection of short films in a variety of genres in blocks of 30 and 60 minutes. Genres include comedy, animation and Stars in Shorts featuring short films with celebrity casts.[10] A compilation of a number of these short films was released theatrically September 28, 2012 under the title Stars in Shorts.[11]
