Secretary of State for Latin America and Africa (Canada)

The Secretary of State for Latin America and Africa is a former ministerial position in the government of Canada. It was one of several Secretary of State positions created by Jean Chrétien in 1993. The ministers who held this position were responsible for assisting the Minister of Foreign Affairs in matters relating to Latin America and Africa.

Paul Martin discontinued the Secretary of State positions after succeeding Chrétien as Prime Minister in 2003.[1]
