History

Scarisbrick Hall was a 169-room mansion built in about 1851 by the architect Augustus Pugin. The Scarisbrick family lived on this site from 1238 to 1946. The Hall is an example of residential Gothic renaissance architecture and is a Grade I listed building of special architectural interest. Scarisbrick Park is an extensive private estate listed at Grade II on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.[1]

Scarisbrick Hall has been the home of an independent school since 1964. The school was named 'Scarisbrick Hall School'. The headmaster was Charles Oxley. Between 1998 and 2009 the school was renamed Kingswood College. Upon threat of closure, Kingswood College was bought by a local family in August 2009, who later changed the name of the school back to Scarisbrick Hall School. In September 2009 the Scarisbrick Hall Group acquired the business of operating Kingswood College Trust. In 2014, the opening of a sixth form college on the site was announced. The college opened in September 2015. It is now owned by the Headley Family

gollark: What if bodies are allocated by auction?
gollark: Your opinion is bad. I am not accepting feedback on this metaopinion at this time.
gollark: No.
gollark: I might have to send you to GTech™ Site 2-Alpha where we contain Jesus.
gollark: If my mind were somehow stuck into a slug or something then either:- the limited slug brain wouldn't be able to support most of it. "I" would be stuck as a slug with a vague longing for missing things "I" can't actually understand- it would work fine because ??? handwave and I'd be stuck in the constant barely-not-dying state of all wild animals for several years, probably incredibly bored and stressed at the same time, until I die of some wild animal thing.
