Sant'Arpino borders the following municipalities: Cesa, Frattamaggiore, Frattaminore, Grumo Nevano, Orta di Atella, Sant'Antimo, Succivo.

Sant’Arpino has a very interesting history; it is a small town in Caserta that had a long succession of Spanish lords. In 1592 it became the marquess Alonzo Sanchez de Luna's feudal domain and for the first time, it was called Sant’Arpino. It officially became a comune with Gioacchino Murat.

The most famous monument is the Palazzo Ducale, that was built by Alonzo III who belonged to Sanchez de Luna d'Aragona's family. Before it was built, there was an old church, that was destroyed and was substituted by the palace. In 1903 the palace was bought by Giuseppe Macrì who gave it to the people who lived in Sant'Arpino and today it is the town's head office of the municipality. Giuseppe Macrì also made a votive statue of Madonna della Lettera, that is on the left side of the palace. Every year, on the 3rd of June a popular feast took place in the palace, but it is actually a lost tradition. Other important palaces are Palazzo Zarrillo, Palazzo Magliola, Rudere del Castellone and there are also some important churches. The Church of San'Elpidio Vescovo is the main church, because it is the church of the patron and is situated in the town's square. Then there is the Church of San Francesco di Paola, the Cappella della Maddalena and the Church of San Caneone.

The town distinguishes itself from the other towns nearby thanks to its big number of cultural manifestations and folklore activities, for example "la sagra del casatiello", "PulciNellaMente", a national theatrical/school review that was introduced by Dario Fò and "Atella Classica", that is an international festival and competition of classical guitar. The high school "Vincenzo Rocco" offers a musical preparation to the students who are interested in and the possibility to participate to musical and talent shows. In 2017, 15 students who came from "Vincenzo Rocco" high school took part in a television program and two of them won a prize as the best classical musicians.

There is also a station, called "Sant'Antimo-Sant'Arpino" station.

"Cinema Lendi" belongs to Sant'Arpino too and is situated between Sant'Arpino and Grumo Nevano. It is both a cinema and a theatre.
