Samudram (1999 film)
Samudram (transl. Sea) is a 1999 Telugu-language action film, produced by S. K. Bhagavan, D. V. V. Danayya under the Sri Balaji Art Creations banner and directed by Krishna Vamsi. It stars Jagapati Babu, Sakshi Shivanand, Srihari, Prakash Raj, Ravi Teja in the lead roles and music composed by Shashi Preetam.[1]

Plot
Sagar (Jagapathi Babu) is an easy-going youngster who leads a content life with his widowed mother (Sudha), sister Chanti (Prathyusha), girlfriend Rajya Lakshmi (Sakshi Sivanand) and friends. Chepala Krishna (Tanikella Bharani) and his younger brother Chepala Nani (Ravi Teja) are the noted smugglers in Vizag. Krishna has a lifetime ambition to become an MLA. Sagar and Nani always have clashes from childhood. C.I. Srihari (Srihari) is an honest Police Officer newly appointed to that area. S.I.Krishnam Raju (Sivaji Raja) is very loyal to him. Here Srihari learns regarding criminal activities of Cheppala Krishna when he is about to file his nomination gets arrested by Srihari and makes sure Cheppala Krishna would not stand on the election. There onwards, Cheppala Krishna develops an enmity against Srihari. One day Srihari gets information that Nani is smuggling at a particular place. Srihari spots and starts chasing him along with Krishnam Raju. At the same time, Sagar makes Chanti's marriage arrangements. Sagar goes to the bazaar to buy something. As the chasing gang, Nani and Krishnam Raju, revealed to be working with Chepala Krishna, kill Srihari. Sagar observes everything and tries to rescue Srihari but is implicated in the murder case and sentenced for life. Nukaraju (Prakash Raj) is a humble and newly transferred constable, who is an avid admirer of the late Srihari. Sagar's mother is hospitalized when she resists Nani who tried to molest Chanti. Nukaraju is on duty to accompany Sagar to the hospital to visit Sagar's mom. There Sagar gives Nukaraju the slip, escapes from the hospital and targets Chapala Krishna, Nani, and Krishnam Raju. The remaining story is how Sagar proves his innocence.
