Career
Sam Humphries began his career in the American comic book market by self-publishing. In 2011 he self-published Our Love Is Real and Sacrifice which brought him to the attention of comic book publishers. His first work for Marvel was an adaptation of John Carter: The Gods of Mars with artist Ramon Perez and colorist Jordie Bellaire. After the departure of Jonathan Hickman from the Ultimate Comics: Ultimates, Humphries took the writing of that title. He followed up with the series Uncanny X-Force and Avengers A.I. In 2014, he wrote The Legendary Star-Lord and led the crossover event Guardians of the Galaxy & X-Men: Black Vortex.
During this time, Humphries wrote the mobile fighting game Marvel: Contest of Champions developed by Kabam. During the publishing event Secret Wars, Humphries wrote the tie in series Planet Hulk and Starlord and Kitty Pride.
In 2016, Humphries began work at DC Comics, writing Green Lanterns during the company's "Rebirth" initiative. Humphries also wrote "The Untouchable" arc for Nightwing. In July 2018, Humphries took over Harley Quinn, beginning a new run on the character. In January 2019, it was announced Humphries would resurrect the Silver Age title Dial H for Hero for Wonder Comics, the DC-published imprint curated by Brian Michael Bendis.
Humphries' creator-owned original comics include Blackbird,[2] co-created with Jen Bartel for Image Comics, Jonesy co-created with Caitlin Rose Boyle for Boom! Studios, and Goliath Girls, co-created with Alti Firmansyah for Comixology.
