The daughter of a playwright, Umeh, a graduate of the University of Benin with a degree in Theatre Arts, was crowned Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) 1990 in December 1989, and would participate in Miss Universe, Miss Intercontinental, and Miss World, where she won the Miss Personality award.[2] Prior to MBGN, she had been crowned Miss Uniben,[1] Shortly after her coronation, Sabina had declared that she would stay out of scandals but months later, she got entangled in one when a Nigerian publication questioned her victory as the MBGN, 1989 on grounds that her boyfriend, Kesse Jabari (who is now her husband) was an employee of Silverbird that hosted the contest. Sabina discredited the allegations by revealing she had contested back in 1987, but lost out to Omasan Buwa while Jabari was an employee of Silverbird. Since ending her reign, Umeh has used the pageant's exposure to pursue a career in modelling and singing, and had worked in public relations promoting cosmetic brand IKB. A specialist in Dance, Choreography and Acting, Umeh is co-founder and artistic director of music production company Juicygroove which promotes aspiring talent in Nigeria and abroad,[4] and has carved out a career in music.[3][5][6] [7]In 2013, she released a promotional CD which was a preview of her debut album "Warrior", with an international tour starting in Nigeria.[8]

Anambra-native Umeh is married to fashion designer and former actor Kese Jabari whom she had first met at the University of Benin; together they have four children, including a set of twins.[6]
