River City Ferries will operate 31 vessels serving 25 wharves on the Brisbane River under a ten year contract (with an optional five year extension) with the Brisbane City Council.[3][4] The company won the contract from the previous operator, Transdev Brisbane Ferries, part of Transdev Australasia, who also operates a number of bus services throughout the state.[1] The contract will see the existing 250 staff retain their jobs.[5] The total value of the contract is A$390 million, an increase from the previous contract, reflecting increased responsibilities of the operator.[4]

gollark: So we can't use emuwaronlinewhen/emuwaronlinewhenen. Sad!
gollark: *Can* you not sort of change those? I mean, not race, genetic modification isn't there yet.
gollark: some languages have grammatical gender which is vaguely weird.
gollark: Well, in English we made it sort of optional, at least.
