Pick Me Up Off the Floor

Pick Me Up Off the Floor is the seventh[6] studio album by American singer-songwriter Norah Jones. The album was released on June 12, 2020, by Blue Note Records.[7][8] A departure from Jones' lounge leanings of the past, Pick Me Up Off the Floor is a primarily jazz pop, orchestral pop, blues, and jazz folk record, with elements of gospel, soul, country, funk, and hip hop.[9][10]

Pick Me Up Off the Floor received an average score of 83 out of 100 from 10 reviews on Metacritic, indicating "generally favorable reviews."[11]

Music journalist Rob Shepherd, writing for PostGenre, has summarized the work: "At its core Pick Me Up Off the Floor builds upon [Jones] career thus far and synthesizes it into a more cohesive work in ways its predecessors did not. It is her most mature and collected work to date." [18] Lior Phillips from Variety praised the album saying "stretching its borders from stormcloud blues to orchestral jazz pop to lithe Motown, the album is tied together by Jones’ ineffable ability to convey big emotions with simplicity."[19]
