Pathak (Devanagari: पाठक) is a surname native to India. Pathak is mainly used by Hindu Brahmin communities of Northern and Western India, most prevalent in Punjab, Kashmir, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh,and Madhya Pradesh. However, it can also be found in Nepal, Assam and Orissa, West Bengal.
