Shyam Pathak

Shyam Pathak is a television actor and currently plays the role of Popatlal Pandey on the popular comedy show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah on SAB TV.

Personal life

Pathak married Reshami who was his classmate at the National School of Drama. They have a daughter and two sons.[1]

Education

Pathak started his studies at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, but dropped out to join the National School of Drama.

Career

He has been part of the comedy show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah which airs on the SAB TV channel. He plays the role of Patrakar Popatlal, an ageing bachelor who works as a crime reporter for a newspaper called "Toofan Express".[2] His constant efforts to find a bride for himself results in funny situations on the show.[3] He is cynical in nature and always carries an umbrella with him.
