Pangil Ahmed Kutty Musliyar

Pangil Ahmed Kutty Musliyar (Malayalam: പാങ്ങില് അഹ്മദ് കുട്ടി മുസ്ലിയാറ്, Arabic: بانغل احمد كدي مسليار), a scholar from Kerala, was the second president of Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama.

Family background

Pangil Ahmed Kutty Musliyar married Khadeeja, the daughter of Saithalavi Haji and Hajjuma, in 1917. After a decade, he married Fathima, daughter of Vallpuza Palaka Parambil Beeran Kutty Musliyar and later he accepted new life partner, Amina, a member of the Ponnani Makhdoom family.

In Samastha

He devoted himself to the Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama, an Islamic organization in Kerala. In 1932, after Varakkal Mullakoya Thangal’s death, he became its second president.

Social and political service

Pangil Ahmed Kutty Musliyar was very interested in social service as well as social welfare, and occupied a significant position in Islahul Uloom of Tanoor.[4][5] He wrote Thuhfathul Ahdab (تحفة الاحداب ), Islathul Kharafath (اصلاح الخرافاة) and Tajul Wasyil (تاج الوصائل).

Demise

After 1945 he withdrew from public life due to physical problems. During the 16th anniversary of Samastha Kerala Jamiyathul Ulama, he felt ill. He died on 20 November 1946 (25 Dhu al-Hijjah 1365).[6]
