Introduction: Ogbaru(Government purposes per location) is a Local Government Area in Anambra State, south-central Nigeria(Not to be confused with Ogbaru people/Clan located in three states(Anambra,Delta and Rivers states of Nigeria). Towns that make up the local government are Atani, Akili-Ogidi, Akili-Ozizor,Amiyi, Mputu, Ohita, Ogbakugba,Obeagwe,Odekpe,Ochuche Umuodu,Umunankwo, Okpoko,Ossomala/ Ossomari, Ogwu-aniocha, Umuzu, Ogwu Ikpele. Ogbaru has its local government headquarters in Atani.

History:
Ogbaru People and clan are farmers/fisherpeople by origin as well as known warriors from its history; The Ogbaru people share clan lineage and boundaries with their people in Delta state and Rivers state such as Aboh in Delta state and Ndoni in Rivers state of Nigeria.The Ogbaru towns bordering the "Eastern Banks" of the River Niger in Anambra State are: Atani, Akili-Ogidi, Akili-Ozizor, Amiyi, Mputu, Obeagwe, Ohita, Odekpe, Ogbakugba, Ochuche Umuodu,Okpoko, Ossomala, Ogwu-aniocha, Umunankwo, Umuzu, Ogwu Ikpele. The towns on the "Western Banks" of the River Niger in Delta States are: Oko-Amakom, Oko-Obi Okpu,Oko-Anala, Oko-Ogbele, Oko-Odifulu, Abala (Aika) Utchi, okapi, Aboh, Abalagada, Akarai, Umuolu, Adiai, Ase, Onuaboh, Inyi, Beneku and Onyah. Ndoni town across the river on the "Eastern banks" opposite town of Aboh(Ogbaru downstream south,Western bank)is in Rivers State of Nigeria.The Ogbaru people consider River Niger waters that runs through its lands as their "territorial lands". Ogbaru-land(ogbaru-upstream north) is neighbored by Onitsha, a major commercial city in south eastern Nigeria located in Anambra State in Nigeria. Ogbaru local government area people and clan(Delta state,ogbaru and Rivers state, Ogbaru) are stretched into three Nigerian states, namely Anambra State, Delta State and Rivers State in Nigeria. Ogbaru was a "Food basket"/ "Rest location" in Biafra country, during the Nigerian/ Biafran civil war.

Logistics: Ogbaru today has a Nigerian Naval Base, an Industrial river harbor, a refinery, a federal road under-construction leading to Rivers State in Nigeria. Ogbaru is a projected link road to other parts of the south east / south south zones of Nigeria with construction of a more inland link roads and a proposed 2nd Niger Bridge. Ogbaru is economic strategic to its surrounding region & Nigeria/West Africa wholly.

River/water/Fishery: River Niger flows through ogbaru land on the east and west banks coming upstream from lokoja(the confluence, where the river Niger and river Benue meet) and heading downstream to the Atlantic ocean via rivers and bayelsa states of Nigeria. The ogbaru River Niger waters serves as a source of Fishery especially catfish and tilapia.
Religion: Most Ogbaruans are Christians(Mostly Catholics) by faith, with very few populations of Muslims and traditional belief systems.
Boundaries: Ogbaru local government area in Anambra State of Nigeria borders Delta state(to the west),Imo state(to the east) and Rivers state(to the south) respectively.
