Wooter started his playing career at Ajax, where he became the first teenager ever to score in a UEFA Champions League semi-final.[1] A spell at La Liga side Real Zaragoza followed, before in 1999 Wooter joined English Premier League club Watford for a then club-record fee of £950,000.[2] He made his debut for Watford in a memorable 1–0 win over Chelsea,[3] and went on to score 3 goals for the club, against Leicester City,[4] Norwich City[5] and Wimbledon.[6]
Wooter also played for the Netherlands under-18 and under-21 teams. He was a member of the Dutch squad at the 1995 FIFA World Youth Championship.
