Activities

Neoen is mainly active in the solar power (59% of portfolio) and wind power (39%) sectors, for a total of 1 125 MW ′in operation or under construction′ in April 2017.[2] It built Cestas Solar Park in Cestas, France, the biggest solar farm in Europe when it opened in 2015.[2] · [3]

Abroad, the company built Hornsdale Wind Farm in South Australia.[4]

History

The company is funded in 2008 as a subsidiary of the French electricity reseller Direct Énergie.[5] Later, it is bought by Impala SAS, currently main stockholder, and Omnes capital, which owned 24% of the stock.[2] The company entered Euronext in October 2018, collecting 450 million euros and becoming the first French unicorn in the renewable energy field.[6] In 2019, Neoen reported that its shares are held 50.1% by Impala, 7.5% by Fonds Stratégique de Participations (FSP, a collective investment fund controlled by French insurance companies), 5.9% by Bpifrance, the French national investment bank, 3% held by management, and 33.5% is free float in the market.[7]

Power stations

As of September 2019, Neoen said it owns 39 solar power plants (total 1900 MWp), 21 wind power plants (803 MW) and 5 grid energy storage plants (135 MW) including the world's largest, the Hornsdale Power Reserve in Australia.[8]

gollark: Punching criminals and whatever else "superheroes" do is probably up there for "least efficient ways to deal with crime".
gollark: What's that, one of those grip strength thingies?
gollark: Does that actually... mean anything meaningful? It doesn't look like, well, a sentence which actually makes sense.
gollark: Generally, you'd hope that you learn approximately what is taught, or it's really bad teaching.
gollark: Sparring is better than... basically doing nothing realistic, which seems to be the alternative.
